Abstract

In this article, a bi-layer chiral metasurface constituting of two complementary twisted pairs of split ring resonators (SRRs) having inclined metal patch are printed on both faces of a dielectric slab. Through this unique geometry, quality transmission with excellent wideband polarization conversion ratio, more than 80% between 9.60 GHz and 10.87 GHz have been achieved. The calculated efficiency of this particular transmitter type cross polarizer is 85.58% at 10.25 GHz, where the co-polarized reflection coefficient becomes minimum while the cross-polarization reflection coefficient becomes enhanced. A strong asymmetric transmission has been experienced under the exposure of the linearly polarized electromagnetic wave (EM) for both forward and backward propagation. © 2020 Indian Radio Science Society.
