dc.description.abstractAbsorption characteristics of MnB+ ion in alkali borate and alkali silicate glasses were investigated. The absorption maximum due to Mna+ ion was found to shift more towards the longer wavelengths with increasing ionic radii of the alkali ions and the results were discussed in the light of ligand field approach. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
