| dc.description.abstract | A W-band gyro-twystron operating in fundamental TE01using clustered cavity has been designed and studied for its performance improvement. The designed amplifier has been modeled in 3D PIC code 'CST particle-in-cell code'. The simulation of the present gyro-twystron predicted an RF output power 78 kW at 94 GHz for the gyrating beam of 65 kV and 6 A with 4% velocity spread. The half power bandwidth has been calculated as 2.6 GHz, which is approximately 1.5 times more than that of a conventional design. The saturated gain and conversion efficiency of the amplifier have been calculated as 36 dB and 20 %, respectively. © 2022 IEEE. | |
