In this paper, a simplified, single-layer, simple to design endfire antenna is designed, which is implemented through a spoof surface plasmon polaritons based line. A coplanar waveguide (CPW), a transition structure and an SSPPs transmission line that integrates with asymmetric and irregular discontinuities serve as the radiating components of the proposed antenna. The designed antenna generates endfire radiation in the operating frequency range of 10.39-11.26 GHz with a maximum realized gain of 9.09 dBi and the maximum efficiency of radiation is 70%. © 2022 IEEE.
