| dc.description.abstract | The aim of the present paper is to establish a convolutional type (Gurtin ME. Variational principles for linear elastodynamics. Arch Ration Mech Anal 1964; 16: 34-50) variational principle and a reciprocal principle in the context of the linear theory of thermoelasticity of type III. To establish the variational and reciprocal principles, we firstly formulate a characterization of the mixed boundary initial value problem in which the initial conditions are incorporated into the field equations. ©The Author(s) 2011. | |
