Abstract

The present era is constantly focusing on well-furnished buildings and adopting innovation and technology to meet the evolving demands of modern living standards. Researchers and industrialists are focusing on Vedic products like Vedic paints, Vedic colors, Vedic plaster, Vedic bricks, and other Vedic construction materials, which are made from cow dung to enhance the comfort of life. Over the course of history, paints have evolved from Vedic paint (VP) to chemical composition- based paints. This study is exploring the use of Vedic paints by considering technically and economically viable alternatives compared to conventional paints. Vedic paint has the potential to improve thermal properties and reduce total energy consumption in smart buildings. Vedic paint has low thermal conductivity and density, which saves some amount of operational energy as compared to conventional paint in smart buildings. Vedic paint embodies a harmonious blend of time-honored traditions and modern sustainability, providing a practical solution to contemporary architectural requirements. Vedic paint not only provides aesthetics but also contributes to improving indoor air quality by emitting minimum pollutants, thereby promoting a healthy indoor environment. The primary objective of the present work is to highlight the potential of VP as a sustainable and eco-friendly option for smart buildings. The future of the study is concluded for the construction sector to develop energy efficient paint materials with better sustainability by incorporating natural waste. © 2025 Scrivener Publishing LLC.
