Abstract
Particle-In-Cell (PIC) simulation of a W-band gyro-twystron has been studied using commercial 3D electromagnetic code. The cavities are stagger tuned to increase the bandwidth of gyro-twystron. The non-resonant output waveguide section of gyro-twystron is designed to operate in fundamental TE01 mode. The intermediate cavities are stagger tuned to improve the bandwidth of amplifier. The PIC simulation predicts an RF peak power of ~ 63.5kW at ~94GHz for 57kV, 5A electron beam with a saturated gain of ~31dB. © 2018 IEEE.
