Abstract

In this paper, we propose a salted cubic unbalanced oil-vinegar (SCUOV) signature scheme. The SCUOV signature scheme relies on the difficulty of solving the multivariate cubic (MC) equation over the finite field Fpn where p-prime and n ∈ N. For the construction of SCUOV we utilize the step-wise iteration method which effectively helps in minimizing the public key size and signature size. We prove that our scheme exhibit short signature size compare to existing unbalanced oil-vinegar signature scheme with maintaining same security level. Additionally, we prove that SCUOV scheme shows resistant against Direct attack and Existential Unforgeability under Chosen Message Attack (EUF-CMA). © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
