Determination of work load distribution for draglines through balancing diagram
Abstract
Workload distribution for draglines operating in horizontal tandem is an important element for planning a dragline pit. The balancing diagram should conform to the principles of workload distribution. The workload distribution exerts immense impact on the productivity of draglines. The present study has been conducted on an actual field operating case, where the draglines worked in horizontal tandem. The method of workload distribution has been discussed. The influence of width of first cut on the work load distribution has been investigated. The balancing diagram has been prepared and computations have been made to study the influence of workload distribution on the width of first dig and the rehandling factor of dragline.
