Processing of Waste Plastics and Its Use as Fuel

Abstract

Plastic has become a necessity as well as a harmful substance for our environment. For plastic solid waste management, it is important to decompose this waste but plastic takes millions of years to get decomposed by itself and during this process, it also pollutes the soil in which it is dumped. But with pyrolysis one can produce oil from the waste plastic and hence can produce wealth from waste. So this is advantageous for the environment and for the economy. Plastics have the potential to produce fuel oils through thermal cracking or pyrolysis. Here, we had performed the pyrolysis of various plastics and this will help in determining the potential yield of these types of plastics to produce the fuel oil. © 2022 Elsevier Inc.
