Abstract
The effects of ion-beam streaming along the ambient magnetic field through the warm magnetoplasma have been accounted for by satisfying the conditions for conversion of electromagnetic waves into electrostatic waves. Generation and excitation of instability around the lower hybrid resonance frequency have been studied with the help of a suitable dispersion relation. The presence of the ion beam facilitates the conversion even for small density gradients. The ion beam promotes the growth of damping of the transformed electrostatic wave, depending on the choice of plasma parameters.
