Abstract
Present study focuses on equilibrium model for the gasification of wood chips and paddy husk. Prediction and analysis of the percentage molar fraction of gas produced from gasification for every composition of producer gas at any gasification temperature and at any moisture content has been carried out. Also, the effect of moisture content has been analysed on the composition of producer gas when the bed is working at 800 °C for wood chip, paddy husk, paper and municipal waste. It was observed that composition of methane produced is almost constant at a very low percentage. The results showed that wood chips and paper produce higher H2gas as 23 % and 25 % as compared to paddy husk and municipal waste of 18 % and 19 %. The percentage of CH4always fall below 1 % in with all biomass at 800 K temperature. However, it was observed that the percentage of hydrogen gas increases as moisture content increases whereas carbon monoxide gets reduced and Carbon dioxide increased. Further percentage of hydrogen gas found increasing with increase in gasifier temperature. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
