| dc.description.abstract | The paper presents a concept of intelligent fault diagnosis with fault current limiter module for Microgrid employing Multi Agent System (MAS). As interconnection of distributed generation (DGs) is likely to grow, many technical issues such as impact on fault-current level is expected to be observed. Fault current limiters (FCLs) which are located at suitable locations with the provision of quickly increasing their impedance, and thus limiting high fault currents have been proposed. Fault location is detected using Fault location identification units (FLIUs) which are deployed at different locations in the Microgrid. Kalman Filter approach has been used for fault location identification. Multi Agent System (MAS) has been used to find out the faulty section, and the effect of faulty section on healthy network is suppressed by FCLs. MAS is implemented using an open source agent building toolkit Java Agent Development framework (JADE). The sample Microgrid model has been developed in Matlab Simulink environment for simulation study. The Simulink model and MAS have been interfaced using MACSimJX toolbox. Detailed Simulation studies have been carried out for faults at various locations of sample Microgrid network. © 2016 IEEE. | |
