| dc.description.abstract | This chapter presents basic methods of reliability evaluation for standby and load-sharing system. It illustrates reliability evaluation of standby systems under ideal and nonideal conditions. Standby system reliability under nonideal conditions is evaluated with conditions such as perfect and imperfect switching and assumption of standby components failure consideration during idle mode with a failure rate. To understand the philosophy of reliability evaluation for standby and load-sharing system, illustrative exercises are presented for clarification at the conclusion of the chapter concept. © 2024 by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.
