| dc.description.abstract | The wear characteristics of AZ91D Mg alloy was analyzed at elevated temperature and under different load conditions. Sliding wear tests was conducted for AZ91D Mg alloy against a harden steel disc under various normal load (10 N, 20 N, and 30 N) in a pin-on-disc type wear tester in dry condition at different temperatures (50 °C, 100 °C, 150 °C). The wear value was assessed in terms of height loss as well as weight loss of the pin shaped specimens. In addition, a cumulative wear value against the test time was also recorded through data acquisition arrangement equipped with the wear tester. The results indicated that the AZ91D alloy exhibited a lower wear rate at elevated temperature. However, the wear value increased with the enhancement of normal load applied during the wear test. © 2019 Elsevier Ltd. | |
