Tensile fracture of graphite / epoxy laminates contaning central holes and cracks

Abstract

A simple relation is proposed for the characteristic length to improve the accuracy while evaluating the tensile fracture strength of graphite/ epoxy AS4/3502 off-axis symmetric laminates, [± θ2]s, containing central holes and cracks, through Whitney-Nuismer fracture models.
