An Approach to Estimate Wall Parameters Using Genetic Algorithm and Time-domain Reflection Method for Through-Wall Imaging

| dc.description.abstract | Through wall imaging system is emerging technology to sense objects behind the wall. In these systems, the wall parameter is needed to be estimated a priori to form through the wall radar images. Incorrect estimation of these parameters causes blurriness in the radar image and a shift in the position of the object from its actual position. Therefore, in the present paper, a novel wall parameter estimation method from the time domain data has presented that estimate the parameters of wall such as its relative permitivity and thickness by solving a nonlinear optimization problem based on genetic algorithm. From the experiment result, the estimated wall parameter have found close to the actual value. © 2020 Indian Radio Science Society. | |
